Fundraiser Idea

A Sneak Peek At the 2011 RiverWalk
With a growing crowd at a Friday evening fundraiser, the RiverWalk committee had no time to stand around like statues — even though statues are what the attendees came to see.
Is it a good idea to have incentives/rewards for a Fundraiser?
We’re throwing a fundraiser to help with a budget, and the idea came up recently to offer an ebook (the book on which our project is based) free to those who make donations of over $20. Other incentives have also been kicked around but my question is – will this really help? Are the people who would donate going to do it because they want to regardless of whether they get anything out of it? Or would having a small reward be a good thing?
Yes, it can work.
Sometimes a better idea is to “thank” the sponsors. You can put up a banner at the event with all the names of people who donated. Or you can agree to wear a t-shirt with a business name on it for 7 days…. in return for donations in excess of $250.
