Ways To Raise Money
Times are tough at the moment. That’s a fact.
Whatever your political persuasion, I think most people agree that the country has to save money and cut the national deficit. It’s perhaps the degree of cuts and savings that need to be taken and who the axe falls on hardest that determines which political route you think is best.
People either genuinely have less money in their pockets or perceive they do. Now the general public are wondering how they can raise money to pay for basic essentials as well as supporting their favourite charities or organisations.
This is having a huge impact on those individuals responsible for fundraising. They need to come up with ever more inventive ways to raise money from Fundraising Ideas to support their favourite cause.
Larger charities, which have massive public awareness, are finding it hard, so for smaller organisations dependent on fundraising to help fill the coffers it’s even more difficult. How does a volunteer, for example from a small local charity, raise money for their favourite organisation, what fundraising ideas can they come up with?
Although austerity measures are now beginning to be felt, the country is not in a double-dip recession. Therefore surely there is sufficient money in the ‘system’ to ensure that Fundraisers can keep the necessary money coming in?
Believe it or not being small can have its advantages when coming up with innovative ways to raise funds. Keeping fundraising simple and personal is the key.
For a start there are now Fundraising Websites on the internet that have got some great money-making ideas. Everything from free lists of fundraising ideas to much more sophisticated, but easy and simple to use, offerings.
The more sophisticated websites will set-up your own fundraising website for you where your members can go to shop on the internet and earn you commission at the same time or make it easier for them to donate money. There are many different options.
It’s always worth while, if you can, in using a company that is a member of the Institute of Fundraising – especially when it’s a joint venture between the fundraising website and yourselves.
The free ideas you can find about fundraising are much easier to utilize in a smaller organisation as your members are normally much more ‘personal’ and ready to try something wacky!
So if you belong to a charity, school, club or other needy organization that relies on fundraising ideas to help raise money, don’t forget to check out the internet.
Perhaps the Government ought to also do an internet search to find out ways to raise money too!
About the Author
Following a highly successful career in London where I owned my own marketing and design company catering for both multinational corporations and small local businesses I decided to “leave the rat race” and establish a Free Fundraising infrastructure for schools, charities, social groups and families.
The result is www.SimpleFundraising.co.uk
Developing this free fundraising service, along with my brother, has allowed me to achieve a work-life-balance that my family deserve.
Not every group, charity or social organisation can afford a full-time, or even a part-time, fundraiser which is why www.SimpleFundraising.co.uk is completely free.
I am dedicated to helping groups of all sizes in their fundraising efforts and, being a rather creative individual, I continually find ways to help organisations raise money for their cause.
